Who We Are
We are the American Society of Mechanical Engineers chapter at the University of Florida. Here at ASME our goal is to bring together students interested in mechanical engineering and give them the opportunity to grow. We provide students with a community to bond together with through social and professional events. These events provide our members the opportunity to grow through networking, professional development, and hands-on projects through our design teams.
Mission
"ASME exists to promote excellence in mechanical engineering. Our chapter aims to prepare students for the engineering world by promoting professional consciousness and fellowship, presenting various perspectives on engineering work, and providing opportunities to become acquainted with ASME’s people and activities."
We accomplish this mission by offering design teams, professional development workshops, guest speaker events, social events, and networking events. These experiences allow our members to apply what they learn in engineering classes to the real world and succeed in their future.
ASME National
ASME at UF is an university chapter of the official ASME organization which exists around the world at many different institutions around the world.
Through ASME National you can gain access to the mechanical engineering magazine, various scholarship opportunities and you can become a national member which has its own benefits.
